She spent her childhood being forced into fancy dress robes and attending boring parties, hating every moment of it. At the age of six, she hated it when people called her Veronica or Ronnie and insisted on being called Nica. Whenever she could Nica would sneak into the muggle book store in the center of town and spend hours studying the art books. At the age of eleven Nica received her letter of acceptance from Hogwarts, and wa with all good news, her family threw a party. Nica didn't have many close pureblood friends, most of her friends were muggle children she met while sneaking around, so was a little nervous on her first day. She was sorted, like her mum, into Ravenclaw and found only one close female friend. When she joined the quidditch team her second year as beater, she found more friends, mostly male, which did not make her popular among the other girls. By her fourth year she stopped caring and focused more on her art. At night Nica would sneak out and paint in empty classrooms. One night Nica decided to see what it would be like paint on the walls. When she was almost finished, Professors Dumbledore and Flitwick walked in. Expecting to be punished Nica immediately started apologizing, but to her surprise both Dumbledore and Flitwick admired her work and encouraged her to continue. From that night on Flitwick made sure that he gave her extra credit charm work that could be applied to art. Encouraged by that she also talked to the rest of her Professors to see how she could apply her magic to her art. To her surprise Professor Snape was willing to give her extra credit and help her with her goal. Professor McGonegall was hesitant, but after some persuading did agree. In her sixth year Nica lost a bet and wrote a fan letter to the current Defense of Dark Arts Teacher Gilderoy Lockhart. He read the letter in her class and made a big deal of it, causing much mocking from the girls in her class who didn't realize it was a joke that she and the boys played on Lockhart. Nica received high marks in both her OWLs and NEWTs. By the end of her schooling, she was approached by healing schools, Gringotts and the Ministry, but turned it all down to backpack around the world studying art and finding herself. When the war came around she considered returning, but having become a pacifist, she felt she would only be hurt in the battles, and stayed abroad.
